Frequently Asked Questions

How often should I re-book?

I recommend that you book bodywork a minimum of once a month for maintenance. If you're working on a particular issue, the more frequent your sessions are, the faster you'll make progress, but you'll still make progress at a rate of one session per month.

What about if I'm feeling better? It's still better to book at least once a month to prevent returning to the state that had you seeking relief in the first place.

I recommend that you wait at least one full week after receiving Energy Work before deciding when you would like to rebook this service, as everyone responds to it differently.

I recommend readings of the same type be spaced a minimum of 2 weeks apart.

Do you offer (Name of Service) session lengths shorter/longer than an hour?

No. I only offer one session length per service.

Do you offer mobile massage (where you come to my house)?

No.

Do you offer prenatal massage?

Not as a separate service, but you are welcome to book a restorative massage and note on your intake at what stage of pregnancy you are.

Do you offer chair massage?

No.

Do you offer Reiki?

I do, but only as part of my Energy Work Sessions.

What do you think about chiropractors?

It depends on the chiropractor. Also, I think you should evaluate whether or not you're having discomfort more because of tight muscles or actual bone (or other) dysfunction. While chiropractors can realign your bones, if you have tight muscles, those bones are going to get pulled right back out of place. For example, I have a friend who has a Chiari malformation, and chiropractic care provides her the most relief in her neck; whereas I, as a sufferer of degenerative arthritis in my cervical spine, benefit much more from manual tissue therapy (bodywork).

What's the difference between massage and bodywork?

Massage is a specific type of bodywork that aims to relax the muscles, increase circulation, relieve pain and boost wellbeing. It is more focused on physical relief and relaxation and common techniques include Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, sports massage and trigger point therapy.

Bodywork is an umbrella term for therapeutic methods that focus on the body for physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being with the goal of manipulating the body's soft tissues to create whole-body balance and facilitate the body's natural ability to heal. It often takes a holistic approach, addressing the interconnectedness of the body, mind, and emotions. It includes various modalities beyond massage, such as: myofascial release, craniosacral therapy, rolfing, reflexology, movement therapies and energy work.

A Few of My Favorite Things:

Pretty much anything from Nuwati Herbals. If you've heard me talk about the Healer Tea for clearing up sinus congestion or the natural bug spray that doesn't stink, they're made by this company. It's a company local to the St. Louis area where I used to live and their stuff is amazing! Unfortunately, they've had to go on hiatus, while pursuing a buyer for the business due to unforeseen circumstances. So if you know of a really awesome company creating natural herbal remedies for life's ailments, please let me know.
